In the late 1970`s I started to take an interest in model railways. My first foray was into n gauge and made an attempt
to build a C J Freezer plan, L33 from 'Plans for lager layouts', with little success. I found that n gauge left a lot to be desired.
How times have changed. However a colleague at work was also a modeler, in em gauge, so in the age old saying of nothing ventured nothing gained,
I took the plunge and joined the em society. I learnt how to build track, white metal kits, K`s of course, brass kits from Eames and
others.
As it would be difficult to build a layout in the house I managed to obtain the old mobile home above for £100.00.
It was approximately 20ft by 7ft. I gutted it, put in power and started to build a layout in em gauge.
The following photographs give an idea of what was in progress but the quality is not good as the negatives
have deteriorated.
